Studying Abroad: How-To

Interested in studying abroad?  Follow the steps outlined below and become familiar with all of the tools and resources available to you when planning your study abroad journey.

Attend Study Abroad 101
Explore Programs and Courses.    Find a program that not only meets your destination criteria, but also matches what you’re learning in your ENSP major!
Meet with an advisor in the Education Abroad office.  Your EA advisor will help develop your goals, and answer questions regarding finances, academics and other concerns.
Complete an online application through the myEA application portal and commit to a program

Complete the course pre-approval process.

  • Using the Permission to Study Abroad form given to you by the EA Office, we identify the courses and alternatives you plan to take abroad and determine how they will count toward your ENSP program.  Both your faculty advisor and Angela will sign this form.  More on this process HERE
  • Meet with your ENSP advisor. If you have already declared a concentration, meet with your faculty advisor first to determine how the courses you plan to take abroad will fit into your graduation plan, then meet with Angela in Symons Hall  (Note:  many students end up using roughly 3 study abroad courses to count as Restricted Electives).
Pre-departure activities:  attend orientation, get your visa, secure finances

Enjoy your time abroad!
